this is day 2 we're going to be talking
about your what day your what what is
your book going to be about what is the
subject of your book is it nonfiction is
it fiction if it's fiction what genre if
it's nonfiction what is it about okay
and some of you this is where you start
and a lot of people always ask me I
don't know how to get started so in
today's video we're going to learn so
let's begin
hi there my name is Garrett Pearson
author of how to write a book ASAP and
welcome back to day 2 in today's video I
want to focus on your what now you might
be watching this and you already know
exactly what it is that you want to
write or you don't know even where to
start you don't even know what your book
is going to be about either way make
sure you watch this video because you
might be surprised at what it is that
you really want to write about and what
it is that will help you in your writing
process so today's exercise you need to
go to a local bookstore or if you don't
have a local bookstore you don't still
have time to go to local bookstore go to
amazon.com go to the books area start
searching things that you are interested
in start seeing what other books have
been written and just start doing some
research in today's video day two and
day three we're going to be talking
about research you have to research your
mind and also your target audience and
we're going to be talking about target
audience tomorrow and day three but
today you're going to be researching
your mind and in the exercise after
you've gone to the bookstore or
amazon.com you started looking around
now what I want you to do is compile
three things okay
three things that you are so interested
in and that you are so excited about
writing about or three things that you
want to learn about so badly you want to
share with the world okay what are those
three things write them down on a piece
of paper on your computer okay three
themes that you are interested in three
things that you want to write about now
what you need to do is focus only on one
forget the other two focus on the one
that you are most excited about how
excited about it are you can you answer
that question on a scale of one to ten
how excited are you about writing about
that subject if it's a ten then you're
ready if it's a nine you're not ready
yet okay so you need to go back to the
drawing board you have to get that one
thing that one subject that you
right about it has to be a 10 because if
you're not out of ten then you're going
to have a hard time over the next
process of you writing your book it's
going to be very hard for you to finish
that book has to be you have to be at a
ten so answer that question do the
exercise go and look at other books go
and research your brain those three
things that you're most excited about
okay now those things those three things
if you're writing nonfiction they can be
anything okay they can be dog training
they can be whatever it is that you have
knowledge about okay those three things
if you want to write nonfiction maybe
you want to write fiction so what books
interest to you okay what books are you
most excited about what do you read most
you write those three things down pick
the one that you're most excited about
on a scale of one to ten it must be a
ten and then you're ready to go on to
day three in day three we're going to be
talking about your target audience now
this is very important for you to
