Most Upvoted Answer
A vessel has 30 L of wine and 10 L of water mixture. 4L of mixture is ...
Solution:

Given,

Initial quantity of wine = 30 L

Initial quantity of water = 10 L

Step 1: 4L of mixture is taken out from vessel and 4 L of water is added.

Quantity of wine in mixture = 30/40 * 4 = 3 L

Quantity of water in mixture = 10/40 * 4 + 4 = 5 L

Quantity of mixture left = 30 + 10 - 4 = 36 L

Step 2: This process is repeated one more time.

Quantity of wine in mixture = 30/40 * 4 = 3 L

Quantity of water in mixture = 10/40 * 4 + 4 = 5 L

Quantity of mixture left = 36 - 4 + 4 = 36 L

Final quantity of wine left = 30 - 3 - 3 = 24 L

Final quantity of water left = 10 - 5 - 5 = 0 L

Required ratio = Final quantity of wine left : Initial quantity of wine

= 24 : 30

= 4 : 5

= 80 : 100

Hence, the correct option is (b) 81:100.
