REGENERATION->
*it is the ability of a fully differentiated organism to regenerate the whole body from their body parts.
* in planaria and Hydra if the individual is cut or broken into many pieces a small piece is capable to regenerate of the entire individual.
* it happens in uneven conditions.
FRAGMENTATION->
* it is the ability of an organism to make a new individual from the fragments or pieces of the body.
* it happens upon maturation .
* take place in favourable condition

When organisms is cut off due to some damaging event and a new organisms is formed from that part, then this is called regeneration.
For example - planaria.

In fragmentation, an organism is gets split up into two or more fragments (on getting mature) and from each fragments a new individual is form.
For example - Spirogyra.
