  • Leadership Struggles: Mao Zedong and Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev had a strained relationship, and their personal animosity contributed to the split. Mao saw Khrushchev as weak and ineffectual, while Khrushchev viewed Mao as reckless and unpredictable.



As a result of these factors, the Sino-Soviet Split became a significant crack in the communist alliance system. The people's Repulic of china (PRC) and the union of soviet socialist repulic (USSR) are both communist country and had good relationship amon both of them though cracks and splits with in the alliances were quick to appear, as communist china quarrelled with the USSR towards the late 1950s, and, in 1969, they fought a brief war over a territorial dispute.
