given ratio = 7 : 13
Let x should be added to each term so
it become 2 : 3
( 7 + x ): ( 13 + x ) = 2 : 3
⇒ 3( 7 + x ) = 2( 13 + x )
⇒ 21 + 3x = 26 + 2x
⇒ 3x - 2x = 26 - 21
⇒ x = 5
∴ We should add 5 to each term of the ratio
7 : 13 so it becomes 2 : 3
