The difference between CI and SI on a certain sum of money at 10% per ...
Given: Rate of interest (r) = 10%, time (t) = 3 years, difference between CI and SI = Rs 620.

Let the principal be P.

We know that the difference between CI and SI for 3 years at 10% per annum is given by:

CI - SI = P[(1 + r/100)^t - 1] - Prt

Substituting the given values, we get:

620 = P[(1 + 10/100)^3 - 1] - Prt

Simplifying this equation, we get:

620 = P[(331/1000)] - 3Pr/10

620 = (331P/1000) - 3Pr/10

Multiplying both sides by 1000, we get:

620000 = 331P - 300Pr

620000 = P(331 - 300r)

620000 = P(331 - 300(10))

620000 = P(3100)

P = 620000/3100

P = Rs 200

Therefore, the principal is Rs 20,000.
