Processing Gain Calculation in CDMA System

CDMA System Parameters:

  • Number of Users (N) = 15

  • Transmit Information Rate (R) = 10 kbps

  • Chip Rate (C) = 1 MHz

Processing Gain Formula:
Processing Gain (PG) = (C/R) x log2(N)

Calculation:

  • Chip Duration (Tc) = 1/C = 1 μs

  • Bit Duration (Tb) = 1/R = 100 μs

  • Chips per Bit (Nc) = Tc/Tb = 10

  • Spreading Factor (SF) = Nc x N = 150

  • Processing Gain (PG) = (C/R) x log2(N) = (1/0.01) x log2(15) = 100

Therefore, the Processing Gain of the CDMA system is 100.
