- Large firing angle delay: If the firing angle delay is large, the load current will be discontinuous, irrespective of the type of load. This is because the thyristor conducts for a shorter duration, and there are more interruptions in the load current.
- Small firing angle delay: If the firing angle delay is small, the load current will be continuous for a resistive load, but it may still be discontinuous for an inductive load. This is because the thyristor conducts for a longer duration, but the inductive load still causes interruptions in the current flow.
