Impedance and Admittance:

Impedance and admittance are two important parameters in the field of electrical engineering. Impedance is the measure of the opposition that a circuit presents to the flow of alternating current (AC). It is represented by the symbol Z and is measured in ohms. Admittance, on the other hand, is the measure of the ease with which an AC current can flow through the circuit. It is represented by the symbol Y and is measured in siemens.

Relationship between Impedance and Admittance:

Impedance and admittance are closely related to each other. They are reciprocals of each other. This means that if we know the value of impedance, we can easily calculate the value of admittance, and vice versa. The relationship between impedance and admittance is given by the following equation:

Y = 1/Z

where Y is admittance and Z is impedance.

Effect of Impedance on Admittance:

As the impedance increases, the admittance decreases. This is because of the reciprocal relationship between impedance and admittance. If the impedance increases, the value of admittance decreases, and vice versa.

For example, suppose we have a circuit with an impedance of 10 ohms. The admittance of this circuit would be:

Y = 1/Z = 1/10 = 0.1 Siemens

Now, if we increase the impedance to 20 ohms, the admittance of the circuit would be:

Y = 1/Z = 1/20 = 0.05 Siemens

As we can see, the value of admittance has decreased as the impedance has increased.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, we can say that as the impedance increases, the admittance decreases. This is because of the reciprocal relationship between impedance and admittance. The value of admittance is inversely proportional to the value of impedance.
