6 = D(1/3x+1/x)
2= 60(1/3x+1/x)

Decides to row at half his usual speed. As a result, it takes him a total of 9 hours to complete the round trip. This means he spent 3 hours more than usual to complete the round trip. Therefore, it takes Sravan 3 hours to row from place A to place B at his usual speed.

Let's assume that the distance from place A to place B is d.

At Sravan's usual speed, he can row from place A to place B in 3 hours.
Therefore, his speed is d/3.

If Sravan decides to row at half his usual speed, his new speed would be (d/3) / 2 = d/6.

Now, let's calculate the time it takes to row from place A to place B and back at the new speed.

Time to row from A to B at the new speed = d/(d/6) = 6 hours.

Time to row from B to A at the new speed = d/(d/6) = 6 hours.

Therefore, it takes Sravan a total of 6 + 6 = <6+6=12>>12 hours to complete the round trip at half his usual speed.

Since it actually takes him 9 hours to complete the round trip, he spends 12 - 9 = <12-9=3>>3 hours more than usual.

So, it takes Sravan 3 hours to row from place A to place B at his usual speed.
