Let the four children be a, b, c, d.
a + b + c + d = 10
Each child gets at least one chocolate, we will allocate one to each child.
i.e. (a + 1) + (b + 1) + (c + 1) + (d + 1) = 10
a + b + c + of = 6
Now we have to partition 6 chocolates to four children which can be done in: (6 + 3)C3 = 9C3 ways
Hence, option 3.

Distribution of Chocolates Among Children

To distribute 10 similar chocolates among 4 different children, the number of ways can be calculated using the following steps:

Step 1: Each child should get at least one chocolate. So, distribute one chocolate to each child. Now, 6 chocolates are left.

Step 2: The remaining chocolates can be distributed among 4 children in such a way that some children may get more than one chocolate and some may get none.

Step 3: Using the stars and bars formula, the remaining chocolates can be distributed among 4 children as shown below:

Number of ways = (n + r - 1) C (r - 1)

where n is the number of chocolates left after giving one chocolate to each child and r is the number of children.

Substituting the values, we get:

Number of ways = (6 + 4 - 1) C (4 - 1) = 9C3

Therefore, the correct answer is option C, which is 9C3.
