The cell theory states that all organisms are composed of similar units of organization, called cells. The concept was formally articulated in 1839 by Theodor Schwann and Matthias Jakob Schleiden and has remained as the foundation of modern biology.

Cell Theory :===>The schleiden ( 1838 ) [ Botanist ] ==> All plants are made up of cells The Shwann ( 1839 ) [ Zoologist ] ===> All Animals are made up of cells. and also plants are also made up of cells but they have cell walls. They together gave cell theory :::(1) all living organisms are made up of cells. (2) Cell is the structural and functional unit of cell. This theory extended by rRudolf virchow and gave third postulate.(3) pre-existing Cell divides and new cells are formed.
