For the sake of this reason, Convex mirror's are prescribed in the rear view mirror of the vehicles. They give a virtual effect and diminished image of the object in front of it. They are preferred as a rear view mirror in vehicle because they give wider field of view which allows the driver to see most of the traffic behind him during daytime or night time.
