Verified Answer
Study the information given below and answer the question that follows...
As per the given information,
Let the total number of students who participate in the summer camp = x
Now, 32% of x = 288
32/100 of x = 288
x = 900
Therefore, total number of students = 900
Now, number of students who participate in swimming = 5/18 of 900 = 250
Number of students who participate in dancing = Average number of students who participate in swimming and cooking =  = 269
Further,
Let the number of students who participate in boxing = Number of students who participate in karate = m
m + m =12% of 250
2m = 12/100 of 250
2m = 30
m = 15
Now, total number of students who participate in singing = 900 – (288 + 250 + 269 + 15 + 15) = 900 – 837 = 63

Now, as per the question,
Ratio of number of girls to number of boys in swimming = 2 : 3
Let the number of girls be 2x and number of boys be 3x.
Therefore, 2x + 3x = 250
5x = 250
x = 50
So, number of boys who take part in the swimming activity = 3 × 50 = 150

Given information:
- 6 different activities in the summer camp
- Each student can participate in only one activity
- Number of students participating in dancing = Average number of students participating in swimming and cooking
- 32% of total students participate in cooking, which is equal to 288 students
- 5/18 of total students participate in swimming
- Boxing and karate have the same number of students, which is 12% of the students who participated in swimming
- The remaining students participate in singing

To Find:
The number of boys who participate in the swimming activity

Solution:

Step 1: Calculate the total number of students participating in cooking
- Let the total number of students be 'x'
- 32% of x = 288
- (32/100) * x = 288
- x = 288 * (100/32)
- x = 900

Step 2: Calculate the total number of students participating in swimming
- 5/18 of x participate in swimming
- (5/18) * 900 = 250

Step 3: Calculate the total number of students participating in boxing and karate
- Boxing and karate have the same number of students, which is 12% of the students who participated in swimming
- 12% of 250 = (12/100) * 250 = 30

Step 4: Calculate the total number of students participating in dancing
- The number of students participating in dancing is the average number of students participating in swimming and cooking
- (250 + 288) / 2 = 538 / 2 = 269

Step 5: Calculate the number of students participating in singing
- The remaining students participate in singing
- Total students - (students participating in cooking + students participating in swimming + students participating in dancing + students participating in boxing and karate)
- 900 - (288 + 250 + 269 + 30) = 63

Step 6: Calculate the number of boys participating in swimming
- The ratio of girls to boys participating in swimming is 2:3
- Let the number of boys be 'b'
- (3/5) * (250 + b) = b
- 3(250 + b) = 5b
- 750 + 3b = 5b
- 750 = 5b - 3b
- 750 = 2b
- b = 750/2
- b = 375

Answer:
The number of boys who participate in the swimming activity is 375, which is option A.
