Difference between displacement and double displacement reaction . Giv...
Displacement reactions-
1.in these reactions, more active element displaces less active element from its salt solution.
2.these reactions are usually slow and take longer time for their completion.
3.one of the reactantis in solid state and other reactants is in aqueous state.
4.during these reactions usually change of colour takes place.
5.Fe(s)+CuSO4(aq)=>FeSO4(aq)+Cu(s)
*Double displacement reactions-
1.in these reactions,there is an exchange of ions between two reactants.
2.these reaction are usually fast and place instantaneously.
3.both the reactants are in aqueous state.
4.during these reactions usually precipitates are formed.
5. Na2S+2HCl→2NaCl+H2S

Chemical Displacement Reaction:-
* More reactive element displaces less reactive
element in a compound.
* Reaction occurs very slowly.
Examples :- (i) CuSO4 (aq) + Zn (s) ––> ZnSO4 (aq) + Cu (s) ↓
(ii) Pb + CuCl2 (aq) ––> PbCl2 (aq) + Cu (s) ↓
Chemical Double Displacement Reaction:-
* Mutually exchange their ions in two compounds.
* Reaction occurs very fast.
Examples :- (i) Na2SO4 + BaCl2 ––> BaSO4↓ + NaCl
(ii) BaCl2 + H2SO4 ––> BaSO4↓ + HCl.
