Magic. It is a product of neither legends nor fairy tales, but instead has become a technology of reality since world war 5. Supernatural power became a technology systematized through magic, while magic became a technical skill. A “Supernatural Power User” became a “Magic Technician”. Magic Technicians (in short, Magicians) are nurtured through Magic High Schools and Universities. They are treated like aristocrats. Not everyone possess magic. It's an inborn talent which does not depend of gene inheritance. A few people have tried making genetically engineered Magicians but the results were not satisfactory.

In our country the top Nine Magic Schools are referred to as First High, Second High and so on. I'm the President of 'First Magic High School'. THe Nine School Competition is the most awaited event for the magical schools. This is the chance where Young Magicians from Magic Schools get the chance to show off their powers and compete with each other. It is directed by the National Magical Community. The School that scores the most point becomes the winner and get the chance to host the ending ceremony. Every participant can participate in maximum two tournaments. This year, our School won the tournament. I participated in Mirage Battle and Ice Pillar break securing first position in both the events.

The School conducts election at the beginning of the year to select the President. The President then selects the Vice-President, Secretary, Chief-Secretary, Treasurer and Chief-Treasurer. An Independent Public Moral Committee also exists whose head is chosen by the President. But after, being appointed the head, He is not responsible to the President unless a special case occurs. The Head then selects the members of the Public Moral Committee whose job is to maintain law and order between School Clubs and Students. I found this system very unique. It helps a student understand the political structure of one's country without reading those boring textbooks.

Dad became the Head of the Youtsuba House which is the strongest house among the top Nine Houses of the Country. To avoid frequent attacks and media, brother and I were asked to keep our identities hidden. But this new year, I was declared officially as the Next Head of the Yotsuba House. It was quite an expected outcome provided that fact that brother is not considered a member of the Yotsuba Family and the rest of the candidates surrendered before me. I'm not interested in the position. But I can use my powers to create respect for my brother. He is currently working under the disguise name Taurus Silver as a mechanical magical engineer. He is quite famous. In fact, my victory in the Mirage Battle was due to one of his creations that allows the users to fly.

You might be wondering about my powers. I have the powers of the ice, fire and wind element. I can freeze anything be it gaseous molecules or a persons soul. But my most powerful attack is Niflheim which is capable of freezing the whole Earth. But I cannot use my Niflheim due to the seal that is imposed on brother and I'm the key. My 30% powers are used to maintain the seal. As a result I cannot use Niflheim. I'm not suitable for close combat.

We, humans have now come close enough to be called better versions of robots and humans. We have automatic kitchen, house security and what not. We have pollution free cars which can even fly with a speed of 900 km/min! The air is more fresh that it used to. Brother has recently invented the first model of a flying car which can fly with a speed of 1290 km/ sec!

Life in 2030 is quite ok. But I wish the world war 5 didn't happen. If it weren't for the world war 5, we still would have been living as humans and not as magicians.

Did you like it? I know, it was way too fricitional. But after reading the topic, my imagination ran wild. The first paragraph is the intro of a Japanese light novel- The Irregular at Magic High School by Tsutomu Sato.

Edit 1:- To make it emotionally appealing, add the miseries of the people after war and how the lower class magicians are treated as war tools. The discrimination still exists.

Edit 2:- This letter is written from the point of view of the female lead of the novel, Miyuki.

Climate change has become a significant issue, but the world has come together to take action. We've made significant progress in reducing carbon emissions, and renewable energy sources have become more accessible.

Global Pandemic
A global pandemic hit the world in 2020, and it changed everything. But humanity has come together to fight it. We've developed new treatments and vaccines, and life has returned to some form of normalcy.

Personal Life
In terms of my personal life, I'm doing well. I've pursued my passions and have found success in my career. I've also traveled to many parts of the world and have experienced different cultures.

Message to My Present Self
As for a message to my present self, I would say to enjoy the present moment and not worry too much about the future. Life is unpredictable, and we cannot control everything. But we can control how we react to the things that happen to us.

In conclusion, the world has changed so much in the last ten years, and I'm excited to see what the future holds. I hope this letter finds you well and that you're enjoying life. Remember, the future is what we make it.
