Balanced Reaction: C6H5OH(g)+7O2(g) ——> 6CO2(g)+3H2O(l)
8 moles of the reactants get reduced to 9 moles of products.
Now, 30 ml of Phenol will react (30 x 7) = 210 ml of oxygen.
So, (30+210) = 240 ml of the reactants will after reaction will give = (30 x 6) + (30 x 3) = 270 ml of products.
Since the water formed is in the liquid state will not contribute to the volume increase, the resultant mixture will contain 270 ml.
So, the volume change is of 270 – 240 = 30 ml.
