Calculation of Total Cost of Consignment

1. Cost of Boxes sent = 100 x Rs 200 = Rs 20,000
2. Consignor's Expenses = Rs 4,000
3. Non-Selling Expenses of Consignee = Rs 900
4. Selling Expenses of Consignee = Rs 500
5. Total Expenses = 4000 + 900 + 500 = Rs 5,400

Calculation of Lost Boxes

1. 1/10th of the boxes were lost in transit = 100/10 = 10 boxes

Calculation of Boxes Sold

1. 2/3rd of the boxes received by consignee were sold = 2/3 x (100 - 10) = 60 boxes

Calculation of Amount of Consignment Stock

1. Total Cost of Consignment = Cost of Boxes sent + Expenses - Cost of Lost Boxes = 20,000 + 5,400 - (200 x 10) = Rs 23,400
2. Amount of Consignment Stock = Total Cost of Consignment - Amount of Boxes Sold = 23,400 - (Rs 200 x 60) = Rs 12,000

Therefore, the amount of consignment stock will be Rs. 7500.

X of Kolkata sends out 100 boxes to Y of Delhi costing Rs 200 each. Co...
Cost of goods sent = 100*200 =20000
lost in transit = 1/10 of 20000 = 2000
therefore, cost of goods received by consignee = 20000-2000 =18000

now, 2/3rd of the received were sold hence unsold stock = 1/3rd of 18000 = 6000
to this add the proportionate non recurring expense of the consignee and consignor
i.e,
consignors exp. = 4000* 6000/20000 = 1200
consignees exp. = 900 * 6000 /18000 = 300

total = 6000 +1200+300 =7500
