If Anil finds that he is fourteenth from the left end and 7 from the r...
Problem: Anil is fourteenth from the left end and 7 from the right end. How many boys must be added to the line such that there are 30 boys in the line?

Solution:
Let the total number of boys in the line be 'x'.
According to the given question, Anil is 14th from the left end and 7th from the right end.

Therefore, the number of boys to the left of Anil = 14 - 1 = 13
The number of boys to the right of Anil = 7 - 1 = 6

Hence, the total number of boys in the line = number of boys to the left of Anil + number of boys to the right of Anil + Anil
x = 13 + 6 + 1
x = 20

So, we have a total of 20 boys in the line. We need to add more boys to make it 30.

Number of boys to be added = 30 - 20 = 10

Therefore, we need to add 10 more boys to make the total number of boys in the line 30.

Answer: The correct option is (b) 10.
