Carbon is a good conductor of heat but a bad conductor of electricity. This is due to its unique atomic structure and bonding properties.

Carbon:
- Carbon is a nonmetal element that exists in various forms, including graphite and diamond. Both graphite and diamond have a crystalline structure, but the arrangement of carbon atoms is different in each form.
- In graphite, carbon atoms are arranged in layers that are loosely bonded together. These layers can easily slide over each other, making graphite a good conductor of heat. The delocalized electrons in the carbon layers can also move freely, allowing graphite to conduct electricity.
- On the other hand, in diamond, each carbon atom is covalently bonded to four neighboring carbon atoms in a tetrahedral arrangement. This strong bonding makes diamond a poor conductor of heat and electricity.

Mica:
- Mica is a silicate mineral that consists of thin, layered sheets of aluminum silicate. These sheets are stacked together, forming a structure with weak bonds between the layers.
- The weak bonding between the layers allows mica to easily split into thin sheets, making it a good electrical insulator. However, the layers also provide pathways for the transfer of heat, making mica a good conductor of heat.

Bakelite:
- Bakelite is a type of thermosetting plastic that was widely used in the early 20th century. It is made by combining phenol and formaldehyde under high heat and pressure.
- Bakelite is an excellent electrical insulator due to its high resistance to the flow of electric current. However, it is also a good conductor of heat because the polymer chains in Bakelite allow for the transfer of thermal energy.

Fibreglass:
- Fibreglass, also known as glass fiber, is a composite material made from fine fibers of glass embedded in a matrix of resin.
- The glass fibers in fibreglass provide high strength and stiffness, making it suitable for various applications. However, glass is a poor conductor of heat and electricity. The insulation properties of fibreglass are mainly attributed to the non-conductive nature of glass.

In conclusion, carbon is the only material among the given options that is a good conductor of heat but a bad conductor of electricity. Mica, Bakelite, and fibreglass have different properties when it comes to electrical and thermal conductivity.
