Given information:
- P sits two seats to the left of R
- Q sits two seats to the right of R
To find:
- Who is sitting between Q and S if S is not sitting next to Q
Solution Approach:
- Draw a circle and mark the seats as shown in the image below:
- Since P sits two seats to the left of R and Q sits two seats to the right of R, we can place R in the middle and place P and Q on either side of R as shown in the image above.
- Now we need to place S and T in the remaining seats around the table.
- Since S is not sitting next to Q, we cannot place S in the seat to the immediate right or left of Q. So, we can place S in the seat next to P or T as shown in the image below:
- Now we can see that only seat left to be filled is the one between Q and S. From the image above, we can see that the person sitting between Q and S is P.
Therefore, option B, i.e., P is the correct answer.
