What are electroplating .?
In simpler terms, Electroplating can be explained as a method of coating a metal surface with a thin layer of a superior metal with the means of electric current .It is a common example of the chemical effects of electric current. Electroplating is widely used and accepted in the industries. Typically, the metal Chromium is used for electroplating objects. Chromium is a common metal used for electroplating because of it shiny appearance, resistance from scratches and it does not corrode easily.
Objects such as bicycle handles, wheel rims, car parts and taps are common examples of electroplating with chromium.
Zinc is an another metal which is used for electroplating bridges and automobiles made out of Iron.
Tin cans are made by electroplating Tin onto Iron.
