On Monday, when they reached 20 minutes earlier than usual time means Laila would have picked her husband 10 minutes before the usual time. Because 10 minutes to go from the point they met to station and 10 minutes from station to the same point. Hence, she would have picked him at 5:50 PM.
On Tuesday, if he leaves the station at 5:30 PM, then Laila would pick him up 5 minutes before the usual time. Hence, they will reach home 10 minutes earlier than the usual time.

Laila drives to the station each day to pick up her husband Majnu, wh...
Given Information:
- Majnu usually arrives on a train at 6 o'clock.
- On Monday, Majnu arrived at the station at 5 o'clock and Laila picked him up and got home 20 minutes earlier than usual.
- On Tuesday, Majnu arrived at the station at 5:30 and Laila picked him up and they reached home earlier than usual.

To find: How much earlier than the usual time were they home on Tuesday?

Solution:
Let's assume that the distance between the station and Laila's home is 'd' and the usual time taken to cover this distance by car is 't' minutes.

On Monday, since Majnu arrived at the station at 5 o'clock, Laila had to wait for 1 hour (60 minutes) to pick him up. But since Majnu started walking home, he covered a distance of 'd' in 't-20' minutes (20 minutes earlier than usual). When Laila met Majnu, she drove the remaining distance 'd' in '20' minutes (20 minutes earlier than usual). Therefore, the total time taken to cover the distance on Monday was:
Total time = (t-20) + 20 = t minutes

On Tuesday, since Majnu arrived at the station at 5:30, Laila had to wait for 30 minutes to pick him up. But since Majnu started walking home, he covered a distance of 'd' in 't-x' minutes (x minutes earlier than usual). When Laila met Majnu, she drove the remaining distance 'd' in 'x' minutes (x minutes earlier than usual). Therefore, the total time taken to cover the distance on Tuesday was:
Total time = (t-x) + x = t minutes

Since the total time taken on both days is the same, we can equate the two equations:
t = t
(t-20) + 20 = (t-x) + x
t-20+20 = t-x+x
x = 10

Therefore, Laila and Majnu reached home 10 minutes earlier than usual on Tuesday.

Hence, option (c) is the correct answer.
