Verified Answer
The cost of one helmet, two pairs of gloves, three pairs of pads, four...
Let the amount that spent on each variety of items by x.
Hence, total amount I spent last year = 5x.
This year I would have spent x (1.11) + x (1.22) + x (1.33) + x (1.44) + x (1.55)
Hence the total cost increased by
x x 0.11[1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5] = x x 0.11 x 15
∴ Percentage increase in cost

Calculation of Total Cost Increase:
- Let's assume the cost of each item last year was $100.
- This year, the cost of each item has increased by the given percentages:
- Helmet: 11% increase = $100 + ($100 * 11%) = $111
- Gloves: 22% increase = $100 + ($100 * 22%) = $122
- Pads: 33% increase = $100 + ($100 * 33%) = $133
- Bats: 44% increase = $100 + ($100 * 44%) = $144
- Balls: 55% increase = $100 + ($100 * 55%) = $155

Calculation of Total Cost Last Year:
- Total cost last year = Cost of each item * Number of items = $100 * 5 = $500

Calculation of Total Cost This Year:
- Total cost this year = Sum of new costs of each item = $111 + $122 + $133 + $144 + $155 = $665

Percentage Increase in Total Cost:
- Percentage increase = ((Total cost this year - Total cost last year) / Total cost last year) * 100
- Percentage increase = (($665 - $500) / $500) * 100 = $165 / $500 * 100 = 33%
Therefore, the total cost of all items purchased has increased by 33% this year compared to the previous year. Hence, the correct answer is option B) 33%.

The cost of one helmet, two pairs of gloves, three pairs of pads, four...
Let the amount spent on each item in the previous year be x
.•.Total amount spent last year=x+x+x+x+x=5*x=5x
Amount spent this year:-
i)helmet-111/100=1.11x
ii)gloves-122/100=1.22x
iii)pads-133/100=1.33x
iv)bats-144/100=1.44x
v)balls=155/100=1.55x

=1.11x+1.22x+1.33x+1.44x+1.55x
=x*(1.11+1.22+1.33+1.44+1.55)
=x*6.65

Percentage increase=(Total amount spent this year -amount spent last year/amount spent last year)*100
=(6.65x-5x/5x)*100
=(1.65x/5x)*100
=33%
