Both the assumptions are valid. Since the company has published (or telecasted) a particular advertisement, their assumption is that people will respond to such advertisements. Otherwise, they would not have gone ahead with that advertisement. Similarly, since ABC company is motivating potential consumers to use their trial products, the clear assumption is that people do like using trial products before making the purchase.
