Consider the following statements:1. Members of Parliament Local Area ...
Explanation:

The Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD) is a Central Sector Scheme which was introduced in 1993. Under this scheme, Members of Parliament (MPs) are given the authority to recommend works for the development of their respective constituencies.

Statement 1: Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD) is a Central Sector Scheme.

This statement is correct. MPLAD is a central sector scheme, which means it is fully funded and implemented by the central government. Under this scheme, each MP has the authority to recommend works up to a specified amount for the development of their respective constituencies.

Statement 2: The MPLAD scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development.

This statement is incorrect. The MPLAD scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, not the Ministry of Rural Development. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is responsible for the overall monitoring and implementation of the scheme.

Statement 3: The nominated members of both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha do not get benefits of the MPLAD scheme.

This statement is correct. The nominated members of both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha do not receive the benefits of the MPLAD scheme. Only elected members of Parliament have the authority to recommend works and utilize the funds under this scheme.

Therefore, the correct answer is option 'A', as statement 1 is correct and statements 2 and 3 are incorrect.
