Given, a particular student is 19th from both the ends. Let us assume the total number of students in the class to be x.

From the left end, the position of the particular student is 19th.

From the right end, the position of the same student is also 19th.

Thus, the number of students between the two ends = (19-1) + (19-1) = 36.

Hence, the total number of students in the class = Number of students between the two ends + the particular student + number of students to the left of the particular student + number of students to the right of the particular student

x = 36 + 1 + (19-1) + (19-1)

x = 37

Therefore, the number of students in the class is 37, which is option (B).
