Verified Answer
The ratio between the ages of a father and a son at present is 5: 2, ...
Let the present ages of father and son be ‘5x’ and ‘2x’ years, respectively.
After 4 years, Son’s age = (2x + 4) years
According to question
After 4 years
The ratio between the present age of the father and mother = 5x: (4x + 4)
∴ We cannot find the exact value of the ratio.
Age of mother = 2 x (2x+ 4) = 4x+ 8 years
Present age of Mother = 4x + 8 - 4
= 4x +4
The ratio between the present age of the father and mother = 5x: (4x + 4)
∴ We cannot find the exact value of the ratio.

The ratio between the ages of a father and a son at present is 5: 2, ...
Given:
Ratio of father and son's age = 5:2
Ratio of son and mother's age after 4 years = 1:2

To find:
Ratio of father and mother's age at present

Solution:
Let the present age of father and son be 5x and 2x respectively.
After 4 years, the ratio of son and mother's age will be 1:2
So, let the present age of son's mother be y years.
Then after 4 years, son's mother's age will be (y+4) years.
According to the given ratio, we can write:
2x + 4 = (y+4)/2
4x + 8 = y+4
y = 4x + 4

Now, we need to find the ratio of father and mother's age at present.
Let the present age of son's mother be m years.
Then, the present age of father will be (5/2) times the age of son.
So, the present age of father = (5/2)*2x = 5x
Therefore, the ratio of father and mother's age at present is:
5x/m = 5x/(4x+4)
= 5x/4(x+1)

Hence, we cannot simplify this ratio and find a definite answer. Therefore, the correct option is (d) Can't be determined.
