Let x cm be the length of equal sides of the isosceles triangle.
So, x + x + 4 = 20
2x + 4 = 20
2x = 20 – 4
2x = 16
x = 16/2 = 8 cm.

Given:- 1)BC=4cm.
2) Perimeter= 20cm.
To find :-1) AB
& 2) AC.
Solution:- ∆ABC is isosceles in which ,

Let, AB=AC=x

Therefore, Perimeter= a+b+c
20 = AB+BC+AC
20 = x + 4 + x
20 - 4 = 2x
16 = 2x
16/2 = x
8 = x
x = 8.

=> AB=BC=8cm.

Therefore, length of equal sides is 8cm.
