26 mile = 1.6*26 = 41.6 km = 41600 m
time = 2 hour 15 min = 135 min = 8100 sec
Now,
          In 41600 m distance time takes        -8100 sec
          In 1 m distance, time takes                       8100/41600 sec
          In 500 m distance time takes                  (8100*500)/ 41600 = 97.36 sec which is near to 1 minute 40 seconds (d)

Given:
- Distance of marathon = 26 miles = 26 x 1.6 = 41.6 km
- Time taken to complete marathon = 9:45 AM - 7:30 AM = 2 hours and 15 minutes = 135 minutes
- Water stations are placed every 500 meters

To find:
- Time taken by the runner to go from one water station to the next one

Solution:
- Total number of water stations = (41.6 km / 0.5 km) = 83
- Time taken to cover one water station distance = Total time taken / Number of water stations = 135 minutes / 83 = 1.626 minutes
- Convert 1.626 minutes to seconds = 1 minute 38.76 seconds ≈ 1 minute 40 seconds (rounded off to the nearest 10 seconds)

Therefore, the closest option to the time taken by the runner to go from one water station to the next one is option D) 1 minute 40 seconds.
