Verified Answer
In a sports club, a poll was taken as to which IPL club(s) they follow...
I + II + II + IV = 1306
I + 2 II + 3 III + 4 IV = 2155
II + 2 III + 3 IV = 849
To maximise 4, we must distribute these 849 counts to IV.
So, IV = 849 / 3 = 283.
Hence, II = III = 0.
So, people who follow only RCB = 597 - 283 = 314
And, people who follow only SRH = 667 - 283 = 384
Required ratio = 314/384 = 157/192

In a sports club, a poll was taken as to which IPL club(s) they follow...
Given data:
- Total number of people in the sports club = 1306
- Number of people who follow RCB = 597
- Number of people who follow SRH = 667
- Number of people who follow KKR = 496
- Number of people who follow CSK = 395

Approach:
To find the ratio of people who follow only RCB to those who follow only SRH, we need to calculate the number of people who follow only RCB and the number of people who follow only SRH.

Solution:
To find the number of people who follow only RCB, we need to subtract the number of people who follow both RCB and other clubs from the total number of people who follow RCB.

Number of people who follow only RCB = Number of people who follow RCB - Number of people who follow both RCB and other clubs

To find the number of people who follow both RCB and other clubs, we subtract the number of people who follow only RCB, SRH, KKR, and CSK from the total number of people in the sports club.

Number of people who follow both RCB and other clubs = Total number of people in the sports club - (Number of people who follow only RCB + Number of people who follow only SRH + Number of people who follow only KKR + Number of people who follow only CSK)

Similarly, we can calculate the number of people who follow only SRH using the same approach.

Number of people who follow only SRH = Number of people who follow SRH - Number of people who follow both SRH and other clubs

Number of people who follow both SRH and other clubs = Total number of people in the sports club - (Number of people who follow only RCB + Number of people who follow only SRH + Number of people who follow only KKR + Number of people who follow only CSK)

Calculations:
Number of people who follow both RCB and other clubs = 1306 - (597 + 667 + 496 + 395) = 1306 - 2155 = -849 (Since it is not possible to have a negative number, we can consider it as 0)

Number of people who follow only RCB = 597 - 0 = 597

Number of people who follow both SRH and other clubs = 1306 - (597 + 667 + 496 + 395) = 1306 - 2155 = -849 (Again, we consider it as 0)

Number of people who follow only SRH = 667 - 0 = 667

Therefore, the ratio of the number of people who follow only RCB to those who follow only SRH is 597:667, which can be simplified as 157:192.

Hence, the correct answer is option D) 157/192.
