Direction: The question below is followed by two statements I and II....
Statement I:
We can get the total number of outcomes, but we don’t know favorable outcome i.e. number of women so Statement I is not sufficient.
Statement II:
Let the total number of student in the class is 9x.
⇒ Number of Men in the class = 5x
⇒ Number of Women in the class = 4x
⇒ Required probability = Number of women / total number of student
⇒ 4x / 9x = 49
∴ Probability of selecting a women from a class is 4 / 9 and statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question.
Hence, the correct option is (B).

Statement Analysis

Statement I: There are 100 students in the class.
- This statement alone does not provide information about the number of women in the class, so it is not sufficient to determine the probability of selecting a woman.

Statement II: Ratio of Men and Women is 5 : 4.
- This statement alone gives us the ratio of men to women in the class, which is 5:4. Therefore, we can calculate the probability of selecting a woman by using this ratio.

Conclusion
The probability of selecting a woman from the class can be calculated using Statement II alone. Therefore, Statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question. Hence, the correct answer is option 'B'.
