Let number of Keyboards sold in shop A is 2x, so the number of mouse’s sold in shop A is 3x.
3x - 2x = 40
Or, x = 40.
Number of Keyboards sold in shop A = 40*2 = 80
Number of mouse’s sold in shop A = 40*3 = 120.
Number of keyboards sold in shop B = 120/2 = 60.
Number of mouse’s sold in shop B = 60*2/3 = 40.
Number of mouse’s sold in shop C = 120*(100-8.33)/100 = 110
Number of keyboards sold in shop C = 110 – 20 = 90
Number of keyboards sold in shop D = 90*7/9 = 70.
Number of mouse’s sold in shop D = 110*9/11 = 90
Number of keyboards sold in shop E = 70*2 = 140
Number of mouse’s sold in shop E = 130*2 – 140 = 120
Total revenue = 320*70 + 180*90 = Rs. 38600

Understanding the Problem
To find the total revenue earned by shop D, we first need to determine the number of keyboards and mice sold there based on the given information.
Step 1: Analyze Shop A
- Let K_A be the number of keyboards sold in shop A.
- M_A (mice sold in A) = K_A + 0.5 * K_A = 1.5 * K_A.
- The difference between keyboards and mice sold in A is 40: M_A - K_A = 40.
- Thus, 1.5 * K_A - K_A = 40 => 0.5 * K_A = 40 => K_A = 80.
- Therefore, M_A = 1.5 * 80 = 120.
Step 2: Analyze Shop B
- K_B (keyboards in B) = 0.5 * M_A = 0.5 * 120 = 60.
- M_B (mice in B) = (3/2) * K_B = (3/2) * 60 = 90.
Step 3: Analyzing Shops C and D
- For shop C: M_C = K_C + 20 and the ratio of keyboards to mice sold in C and D is 9:7.
- Let K_C = 9x and K_D = 7x.
- M_C = 120 * 0.9167 ≈ 110 (8.33% less than M_A).
- Solve for K_C and K_D:
- K_C = 9x = 90; hence, x = 10.
- So, K_D = 70.
Step 4: Calculate M_D
- M_D = (9/7) * M_C = (9/7) * 110 ≈ 90.
Step 5: Calculate Total Revenue for Shop D
- Selling Price:
- Revenue from Keyboards = K_D * Price per Keyboard = 70 * 320 = Rs.22400.
- Revenue from Mice = M_D * Price per Mouse = 90 * 180 = Rs.16200.
- Total Revenue = Rs.22400 + Rs.16200 = Rs.38600.
Conclusion
The total revenue earned by shop D is Rs.38600, confirming option 'D' as the correct answer.
