Directions: Study the following information and answer the question.
A, B, C, D, E, F and G are sitting in a straight line with equal distance between each other, but not necessarily in the same order. Some of them are facing north and some are facing south.
Only two persons are sitting to the left of G. Only two persons are sitting between G and B. A is second to the left of B. The immediate neighbours of A are facing opposite directions (if one of the neighbours is facing south, then the other will be facing north and vice versa). Only one person is sitting between A and C. F is sitting third to the left of C. D is not an immediate neighbour of B. Both the immediate neighbours of C are facing the same direction (if one neighbour is facing north, then the other will also be facing north and if one is facing south, then the other will also be facing south). A is facing the same direction as C. E is facing north. B is sitting to the immediate left of E.
Q. Which of the following statements is true?
  • a)
    D is facing South.
  • b)
G is sitting third to the left of B.
  • c)
D is sitting exactly between C and A.
  • d)
F is sitting to the immediate right of A.
  • e)
    None of these
Correct answer is option 'B'. Can you explain this answer?

E is facing north. B is sitting to the immediate left of E. A is second to the left of B. Only one person is sitting between A and C.
Only two persons are sitting between G and B. Only two persons are sitting to the left of G. D is not an immediate neighbour of B. F is sitting third to the left of C.
The immediate neighbours of A are facing opposite directions (if one of the neighbours is facing south, then the other will be facing north and vice versa). Both the immediate neighbours of C are facing the same direction (if one neighbour is facing north, then the other will also be facing north and if one is facing south, then the other will also be facing south). A is facing the same direction as C.
So, we can see that G is sitting third to the left of B as B is facing north.

Directions: Study the following information and answer the question.A,...
To solve the arrangement of A, B, C, D, E, F, and G based on the given clues, let’s analyze the information step-by-step.
Initial Arrangement Based on Clues
- G's Position: Only two persons are sitting to the left of G. This means G is in either the 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th position.
- B's Position: Two persons are sitting between G and B. This restricts B’s possible positions based on G's position.
Placing A and C
- A's Position: A is second to the left of B. This means B must be at least in position 3 or further right for A to fit into the arrangement.
- C's Position: There’s only one person between A and C, which will help us position them together based on where A and B fit.
F's Position
- F's Position: F is third to the left of C. This gives another constraint which must fit in with A and C's placement.
Analyzing Directions
- Direction Clues: The immediate neighbors of A face opposite directions, and both neighbors of C face the same direction. E is facing north, and B is to E's immediate left.
Final Arrangement
After considering all clues and constraints, you can derive the final arrangement as follows:
1. G in 3rd position
2. B in 6th position (2 persons between G and B)
3. A in 4th position (2nd to the left of B)
4. C must be in 5th position (1 person between A and C)
5. F must be in 2nd position (3rd to the left of C)
6. D must be in 1st position (not adjacent to B)
7. E must be in 7th position (immediate left of B)
Conclusion: Validating the Statements
- a) D is facing South: Not confirmed.
- b) G is sitting third to the left of B: True. (G is in position 3, B is in position 6)
- c) D is sitting exactly between C and A: False.
- d) F is sitting to the immediate right of A: False.
- e) None of these: False.
Thus, the correct answer is B: "G is sitting third to the left of B."
