According to the statements,
The ratio of investment = A ∶ B ∶ C ∶ D = 4 ∶ 5 ∶ 3 ∶ 2
Now, A continues the business for 8 months only. B leaves the business after 6 months and D leaves the business three months before the end of the year.
∴ Share in business = (4 × 8) ∶ (5 × 6) ∶ (3 × 12) ∶ (2 × 9) = 32 ∶ 30 ∶ 36 ∶ 18 = 16 ∶ 15 ∶ 18 ∶ 9
Total profit at the end of year = Rs. 116000
The profit share of A = (16/58) × Rs. 116000 = Rs. 32000
The profit share of B = (15/58) × Rs. 116000 = Rs. 30000
The profit share of C = (18/58) × Rs. 116000 = Rs. 36000
The profit share of D = (9/58) × Rs. 116000 = Rs. 18000
The difference of profit share of A and D = (32000 – 18000) = Rs. 14000
And the difference of profit share of B and C = (36000 - 30000) = Rs. 6000
∴ Required percentage = 14000 ∶ 6000 = 7 ∶ 3
So, the required percentage is 7 ∶ 3.
Hence, the correct option is (A).
