If @ represents a digit in 7 digit no. 3,62@,215, what is the value of...
Solution:

To find the value of @ in 7 digit no. 3,62@,215, we need to use both the given statements.

Statement 1: Sum of 7 digits is equal to 4 times an integer.

Let the sum of the digits be x. Then we can write:

x + @ + 16 = 4n

where n is some integer.

Simplifying the above equation, we get:

x + @ = 4n - 16

We can see that there are many possible values of x and @ that can satisfy this equation. For example, if n = 5, then x + @ = 4n - 16 = 4(5) - 16 = 4. In this case, x could be 1 and @ could be 3, or x could be 2 and @ could be 2, or x could be 3 and @ could be 1.

So, statement 1 alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

Statement 2: Missing digit is different from any of the other digits in the number.

This statement tells us that @ cannot be any of the digits 3, 6, 2, 1, or 5. So, @ must be either 0, 4, 7, 8, or 9.

However, this statement alone is also not sufficient to answer the question, as there are still multiple possible values of @ that could satisfy this condition.

Both statements together:

When we combine both statements, we get:

x + @ = 4n - 16

@ cannot be any of the digits 3, 6, 2, 1, or 5.

From statement 1, we know that x + @ is a multiple of 4. So, @ must be an even digit (0, 4, 8).

We can see that the only even digit that satisfies both conditions is @ = 8.

Therefore, both statements together are sufficient to answer the question.

Hence, the correct answer is option B.

If @ represents a digit in 7 digit no. 3,62@,215, what is the value of...
As the asked digit is different from the other digits already present possible digits for @ are 0,4,7,8,9. And as per statement number 1 sum of 7 digits is 4 times an integer that sum is divisible by 4. Hence the only possible digit is 9. Hence @ is 9.
