Let the total milk be 100ℓ.
After first operation, amount of pure milk = 100 - 20 = 80ℓ
After second operation, total solution = 100ℓ
(80ℓ milk + 20ℓ water)
Amount of milk taken out

Amount of pure milk left = 80 - 16 = 64ℓ
After third operation, total solution = 100ℓ(∵ of 64ℓ + 36ℓ)
Amount of milk taken out

Amount of remaining pure milk = 64 - 12.8 = 51.2ℓ

Problem:
In a container having milk, 20% of the milk is replaced by water, and this process is repeated thrice. At the end of the third operation, what is the percentage of pure milk in the container?

Solution:
Let's assume that the initial quantity of milk in the container is 100 units.

First Operation:
In the first operation, 20% of the milk is replaced by water. This means that 20 units of milk are replaced by 20 units of water. So, after the first operation, the container contains 80 units of milk and 20 units of water.

Second Operation:
In the second operation, 20% of the milk (which is 80 units) is replaced by water. This means that 16 units of milk are replaced by 16 units of water. So, after the second operation, the container contains 64 units of milk and 36 units of water.

Third Operation:
In the third operation, 20% of the milk (which is 64 units) is replaced by water. This means that 12.8 units of milk are replaced by 12.8 units of water. So, after the third operation, the container contains 51.2 units of milk and 48.8 units of water.

Percentage of Pure Milk:
To find the percentage of pure milk in the container after the third operation, we need to calculate the percentage of milk in the total solution.

Total solution = milk + water = 51.2 + 48.8 = 100 units

Percentage of pure milk = (milk / total solution) * 100 = (51.2 / 100) * 100 = 51.2%

Therefore, the percentage of pure milk in the container at the end of the third operation is 51.2%. Hence, the correct answer is option B.
