From Statement I,
11x + 7y = 226………(1)
9y - 4z = 59………….(2)
By solving the above equations we cannot get the value of y.
So Statement I is not sufficient to answer the question.
From Statement II,
13x - 5z = 48……………..(3)
91x + 13y - 35z = 531…..(4)
Multiplying equation (3) with 7 and equation (4) with 1,
91x - 35z = 336………….(3)
91x + 13y - 35z = 531…..(4)
Solving equation (4) - equation (3)
13y = 195
y = 15
So Statement II is sufficient to answer the question.
