‘Centre aims to cut treatment cost, have more doctors
The Union government will work holistically in the health sector with synergy between preventive health care and modern medical facilities. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Monday.
Besides reducing the cost of treatment of the poor, efforts were on to rapidly increase the number of doctors, Mr. Mandaviya said while inaugurating a multispecialty outpatient and inpatient block (IPD) at Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) and associated hospital here.

The new IPD block will increase the bed strength of the LHMC from 877 to more than 1,000 beds. The IPD block houses an additional highly sophisticated facilities for holistic healthcare, including all medical and surgical specialties, Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy and Homeopathy.
