Mr. Naidu is an accountant in Silver Bell International School, Tamil Nadu. The school provides free education to a girl child of the staff members. Mr. Naidu is availing such benefit for his only daughter ‘Akhila’, who is a good sports person. Recently, while participating in an Inter School tournament, she suffered a leg injury. She was advised 2-week rest. Mr. Naidu claimed medical expenses from the school management which they refused asserting that the school provides medical reimbursement policy to its employees and not to the family members. Being disheartened, Naidu become reluctant to work. The Accounts Manager on realizing this, to stimulate Naidu to take up work voluntarily, increased Naidu’s scope of authority and responsibility, which he communicated to Mr. Naidu in writing leading to satisfaction of same of his needs. Thereby, Mr. Maidu’s work performance improved remarkably.
