Arrange the following important events of the national movement of Ind...
Mahatma Gandhi was to spend much of 1917 in Champaran, seeking to obtain for the peasants security of tenure as well as the freedom to cultivate the crops of their choice. The following year, 1918, Gandhiji was involved in two campaigns in his home state of Gujarat.
First, he intervened in a labour dispute in Ahmedabad, demanding better working conditions for the textile mill workers. These initiatives in Champaran, Ahmedabad and Kheda marked Gandhiji out as a nationalist with a deep sympathy for the poor. Gandhiji called for a countrywide campaign against the "Rowlatt Act" in 1919. The Khilafat Movement, (1919-1920) was a movement of Indian Muslims, led by Muhammad Ali and Shaukat Ali.

To arrange the given events of the national movement of India in chronological order, we need to understand the sequence in which they occurred. Let's analyze each event along with its corresponding date and significance.

1. CHAMPARAN Satyagraha:
- Date: April 1917
- Significance: This was the first Satyagraha movement led by Mahatma Gandhi in Bihar. It aimed to address the exploitation of indigo farmers by British landlords. The success of this movement established Gandhi's leadership in the Indian freedom struggle.

2. AHMEDABAD Satyagraha:
- Date: March 1918
- Significance: This movement was launched by Mahatma Gandhi in Gujarat to support the mill workers' demand for better working conditions and higher wages. It marked the beginning of the industrial labor movement in India.

3. ROWLATT Satyagraha:
- Date: March 1919
- Significance: This movement was organized to protest against the repressive Rowlatt Act passed by the British government, which aimed to suppress political dissent. The movement resulted in widespread protests and strikes across India.

4. KHILAFAT - Non-Cooperation Movement:
- Date: 1919-1922
- Significance: The Khilafat Movement was initiated by Indian Muslims to support the cause of the Caliphate in Turkey. Mahatma Gandhi joined hands with the Khilafat leaders and launched the Non-Cooperation Movement, which aimed to boycott British institutions, including educational institutions, courts, and administrative services.

5. KHEDA Satyagraha:
- Date: 1918-1919
- Significance: This movement was led by Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat against the oppressive taxation policies of the British government. It demanded the suspension of land revenue collection due to crop failure. The success of this movement established Patel's leadership and tactics of nonviolent resistance.

Arranging the events in chronological order, we get:
D. CHAMPARAN Satyagraha: April 1917
B. AHMEDABAD Satyagraha: March 1918
C. ROWLATT Satyagraha: March 1919
A. KHILAFAT - Non-Cooperation Movement: 1919-1922
