Eligibility Criteria for RBI Assistant Exam
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducts the RBI Assistant Exam to recruit candidates for the post of Assistant in various branches of the RBI across the country. The eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification are as follows:
Nationality:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age Limit:
- The candidate must be between 20 and 28 years of age as of a specified date mentioned in the notification.
- Age relaxation is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms.
Educational Qualification:
- The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent.
- Knowledge of word processing on a computer is essential.
Language Proficiency:
- The candidate must have proficiency in the official language of the state/UT for which they are applying.
- They should be able to read, write, and speak the language fluently.
Computer Skills:
- Basic knowledge of computer operation is required.

- The candidate must possess a good character and should not have been involved in any criminal activities.
- They should have a clean record of service.
Physical Fitness:
- The candidate should be of sound health and should be free from any physical defect or disability.
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have a valid email ID and contact number for communication purposes.
- They should be willing to serve anywhere in India.
