There are specific eligibility criteria for different papers of the CTET exam. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers in classes I to VIII. The exam consists of two papers - Paper I and Paper II.

1. Eligibility for Paper I:
- Education Qualification:
- Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
- Candidates who are appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) can also apply.
- Candidates who have completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) can also apply.
- Candidates who have completed a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) can also apply.
- Candidates who have completed a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) can also apply.
- Candidates with a Bachelor's degree and have completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education can also apply.
- Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in Paper I of CTET.

2. Eligibility for Paper II:
- Education Qualification:
- Candidates must have completed a Bachelor's degree and have completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Candidates who have completed a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks and have completed a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) can also apply.
- Candidates who have completed a Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and have completed a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) can also apply.
- Candidates who have completed a Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and have completed a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed can also apply.
- Candidates who have completed a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks and have completed a B.Ed (Special Education) can also apply.
- Age Limit: The maximum age limit for appearing in Paper II of CTET is 35 years.

3. Relaxation in Qualification:
- There is a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks for candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently-abled.
- The minimum qualifying marks for CTET is 60% for candidates belonging to the general category and 55% for candidates from reserved categories.

It is important for candidates to carefully check the eligibility criteria before applying for the CTET exam. Meeting the eligibility criteria is essential for appearing in the exam and being considered for teacher appointments in classes I to VIII.
