A law firm charges 1500 dollars in total for jobs that take at most 10...
Statement (1) alone: The cost of one of the jobs was 1500 dollars. This statement tells us the cost of one of the jobs but doesn't provide any information about the time taken to complete that job or the other job. We need information about the time taken to determine the number of hours it took to complete both jobs.
Statement (2) alone: The total cost of the two jobs was 3500 dollars. This statement gives us the total cost of both jobs but doesn't provide any information about the individual costs or the time taken to complete each job. Without knowing the individual costs or the time taken, we can't determine the number of hours it took to complete both jobs.
When we consider both statements together, we still don't have enough information to determine the number of hours taken. We need either the individual costs or the time taken for each job to make a conclusive calculation.
Therefore, the answer is E: Statements (1) and (2) together are not sufficient to answer the question asked, and additional data are needed.
