Qualifying Degree
To be eligible for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) in the Electrical Engineering (EE) category, candidates must have completed one of the following qualifying degrees:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after Diploma in Engineering/Technology)
- Master's degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent
- Integrated Master's degree in Engineering/Technology (4 years program)
- Integrated Dual Degree program or Dual Degree program in Engineering/Technology (5 years program)
- Professional Society Examinations (equivalent to Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology)
Minimum Percentage Requirement
To be eligible for GATE EE, there is no minimum percentage requirement for candidates belonging to the general category. However, candidates must have a valid qualifying degree.
On the other hand, candidates belonging to the reserved categories such as SC/ST/PwD are required to have a minimum of 45% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in their qualifying degree.
CGPA Conversion
