To be eligible for the Flying Branch in AFCAT, candidates must fulfill the following educational requirements:

Ground Duty Technical Branch:

For the Ground Duty Technical Branch, the educational requirements vary depending on the specific fields. The following are the educational requirements for each field:

- Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) [AE(L)]:
- The candidate must have completed their 10+2 education with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
- They must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics and Mathematics.
- The candidate must also have a minimum of 60% marks in any one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Computer Science, or Statistics.

- Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) [AE(M)]:
- The educational requirements for AE(M) are similar to AE(L) except for the subjects required for minimum 60% marks. In AE(M), candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Mathematics, and any one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Computer Science, or Statistics.

Ground Duty Non-Technical Branch:

For the Ground Duty Non-Technical Branch, the educational requirements are as follows:

- Administration & Logistics:
- The candidate must have completed a minimum of three-year graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks.

- Accounts:
- The educational requirement for the Accounts branch is the same as the Administration & Logistics branch.

- Education:
- The candidate must have completed a minimum of three-year post-graduation degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks.
