Remember that the area of a parallelogram is equal to base × height. In this case, the base is [3 − (−3)] or [2 − (−4)], both of which equal 6, and the height is (3 − (−5)) = 8.
Thus the area is 6 × 8 = 48. The area of triangle QRS,  is half the area of the parallelogram, or 24.
