Verified Answer
A point is moving with uniform acceleration, in the eleventh and fifte...
Given:
Acceleration is uniform.
S11 = 640 cm
S15 = 840 cm
Formula:
Distance traveled in nth second
where u is the initial velocity and a is the acceleration.
Calculations:
S11 = u + a/2(2 × 11 - 1)
⇒ 640 = u + 21a/2   ---   (i)
S15 = u + a/2(2 × 15 - 1)
⇒ 840 = u + 29a/2   ---  (ii)
Subtracting (i) from (ii) :
⇒ 200 = 4a
⇒ a = 50 cm/s2
Putting a = 50 in (i) -
u = 115 cm/s

A point is moving with uniform acceleration, in the eleventh and fifte...
Given data:
- Initial velocity (u) = ?
- Final velocity in the 11th second = 640 cm/s
- Final velocity in the 15th second = 840 cm/s
- Time taken to reach the final velocity in the 11th second = 11 seconds
- Time taken to reach the final velocity in the 15th second = 15 seconds
- Acceleration (a) = ?

Calculating initial velocity:
1. Using the equation of motion: v = u + at, where v is the final velocity, u is the initial velocity, a is the acceleration, and t is the time.
2. For the 11th second: 640 = u + 11a
3. For the 15th second: 840 = u + 15a
4. Subtracting the two equations: 840 - 640 = 15a - 11a
5. 200 = 4a
6. Therefore, a = 50 cm/s2
7. Substituting the value of a in the equation for the 11th second: 640 = u + 11(50)
8. Solving for u, we get u = 115 cm/s

Therefore, the initial velocity is 115 cm/s and the acceleration is 50 cm/s2.
