Given that:
x2 + px + (1 - p) = 0
⇒ x1 = 1 - p
Well,
⇒ (1 – p)2 + p(1 – p) + (1 – p) = 0
(1 - p)(1 – p + p + 1) = 0
2(1 – p) = 0
⇒ p = 1
⇒ x2 + x + 0 = 0
x(x + 1) = 0
x = -1, x = 0
