Ravi and Suraj are partners having the profit sharing ratio 3:2 in a f...
Calculation of new profit sharing ratio:
- Ravi's share = 3/5
- Suraj's share = 2/5
- Tarun's share = 1/5
- Total = 3/5 + 2/5 + 1/5 = 1

Calculation of Tarun's share in goodwill:
- Tarun brings in Rs. 30,000 as goodwill
- Tarun's share in the profit sharing ratio = 1/5
- Tarun's share in goodwill = Rs. 30,000 x 1/5 = Rs. 6,000

Calculation of Ravi's share in goodwill:
- Ravi's share in the old profit sharing ratio = 3/5
- Ravi's share in the new profit sharing ratio = 2/5
- Change in Ravi's share = 2/5 - 3/5 = -1/5
- Ravi's share in goodwill = Rs. 6,000 x (-1/5) = -Rs. 1,200
- However, since goodwill is a positive asset, Ravi's share in goodwill cannot be negative
- Therefore, Ravi's share in goodwill = Rs. 30,000 + (-Rs. 1,200) = Rs. 28,800
